Technology: It’s become the fabric of American culture, yet it’s availability and influence on youth is more widespread than ever before. Children and youth spend an average of 40 hours per week in front of a screen, and more than 50% of surveyed parents report being concerned about the amount of time their child uses media. But, did you know that there are also specific ways that media can be used to help improve your child’s learning?
As a parent, you may be wondering if you can manage your child’s technology use more effectively
There will be a free one hour workshop offered to parents, presented by Jessica Norman. Jessica is a researcher in Community Psychology, a doctoral candidate and licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. The research workshop offers a variety of methods to maximize children’s learning and minimize potential harm through media use.
